Why should you test your soil?

  • This will help our Crop Advisors be able to give you an accurate recommendation for crop nutrients
  • By testing your soil it ensures fertile soil without excess fertilizer application or pollution of the environment
  • Soil testing will allow your crop advisor to help you maximize your crops potential

When should you soil test your field?

  • Soil test between February through April in order to have a spring application
  • Soil test between August through October in order to have a fall application
  • Sample the same time every year in order to have accurate test results in order to compare each years test
  • Avoid summer sampling because as you move the salt in the soil around it changes your pH levels
For most soils it takes more than one year to make significant changes to your soil test levels. As your soil improves with Valley Agronomics services, growers can improve their yield potentials.

Why should you test your water?

  • Test pH levels to understand how it will affect the cropshutterstock_101124007.jpg
  • Test salt levels in your water to understand how it will affect the crop

When should you test your water?

  • Test your water before you begin planting your crops
  • It is not necessary to test your water throughout the year but it would be a good idea to monitor your pH levels in the water
